The town was named after Mena Janssen de Goeijen who was the wife of Arthur Stillwell's primary investor, Jan de Goeijen. It was not named for Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands.The population was 5,637 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Polk County.[1]
